The 2017 K-POP World Festival San Francisco Preliminary starts off in San Francisco on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at San Francisco’s State University’s Jack Adams Hall.
Attracting hundreds of audiences and K-POP lovers in the bay area, many groups showcase their talent in singing and dancing Korean pop music.
This year, a kpopxkpop dance battle was also held for groups who didn’t qualify for the main competition.
Deputy Consul General Kim Jimin from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in San Francisco gives an encouraging speech about the rising popularity of the Hallyu wave and the importance of educating about Korean culture through K-POP.
One of the judges, Daniel Kang, dancer and instructor of In the Grooves Studio, congratulates all the contestants that participated. He acknowledges the bravery and efforts put into competition by all the contestants and encourages those who are interested in the arts to pursue their passion and dreams.
